Local Resident Decides: "As Long As They're Not Fracking In My Yard"

This past week a local Petersburg IL resident decided for himself that fracking was ok as long as it did not occur on his personal property.

For those of us who don't know, "Fracking" is a horizontal drilling process used to extract natural gas. It is known to be associated with harmful air emissions, water contamination, and other serious issues. It can cause land to be unfit for growing crops and human habitation.

When interviewed by In The Know resident of 126 S Harpam St, DrewP., stated that he really didn't know what fracking was, or what the process entailed, or where it actually occurred, but he knew that he did not want it in his back yard. When shown a picture of a fracking well by In The Know, DrewP. concluded that "one of those big tower thingies" would definitely not work on his property. He argued that despite his lack of knowledge he was actually all for fracking.  He concluded by stating: "As long as they're not fracking in my yard!" Upon ending the phrase a slimy grin curled across his face, however, he would not let us in on the joke and refused further questioning.
The resident clearly doesn't understand the implications of fracking on the environment, water supply, and possibly his personal health.

However, if you're interested in learning more this link http://www.dangersoffracking.com/ takes you to a simple explanation of the process equipped with pictures and easy instructions.
